APRN "AK" RADIO SHOW DOES A FEATURE STORY ON JPJ!

APRN radio show "AK" did a feature story on JPJ in April! AK producer and reporter Ellen Lockyer (PICTURED AT RIGHT) spent some time in Wasilla interviewing band director Hank Hartman and several band members, including Doug Lentz, Dylan Bryant, Ben Evans, Alecia Kaer, and Randi Bernier. The interviews are part of a feature story on the band, and jazz in Alaska. The feature was broadcast statewide May 3, 2008. You can hear the feature here by going to our "HEAR US! 8 JPJ MEMBERS PICKED FOR UAF JAZZ FEST HONOR BAND!

JPJ concluded yet another great UAF Jazz Festival in April by earning EIGHT spots on the high school level HONOR BAND!

There was a lot of orange on that stage at the Saturday concert! JPJ also performed three pieces at the Friday evening exposition concert and rounded out the evening with a standing ovation!

Because several Mat Su schools are representd on JPJ, the band has developed wide recognition - and appreciation. We hope to "do it again" at UAF Jazz Festival 2009!
